The
Performer’s Edge Dance Theatre
is a student performing company. We strive to have a professional performing
unit atmosphere while promoting dedication in the performing arts. Students
must be enrolled in at least Ballet, Tap and Jazz in Level 3 and above to
be eligible. Students should be in at least the third grade.
-
Students start as apprentices, in rehearsals, during the fall session
and may be inducted in December to continue throughout the year. The Company
rehearses year-round. You must attend the summer class session to be eligible
for summer and fall performances.
-
Performances
are optional. Students are expected to attend all company rehearsals and
maintain good attendance in their technique classes. Poor attendance will
affect your student’s training and exclude them from participation
in company events.
-
The
company atmosphere will be geared towards a professional performing company
and artistic decisions should not be questioned. Your child may not be
involved in every performing routine or event. It is very important that
you explain this aspect of “Show Business” to your child.
-
Updated schedules will be provided often. This information is posted in
the lobby on the bulletin board. Students or parents should check the
bulletin board and their “Company Folder” weekly. Schedules
and events are subject to change.
-
Rehearsals
are closed to visitors and parents. Specific rehearsals may be designated
for visitors to observe.
-
Company
members may need to purchase both beige and black jazz shoes. Additional
Fees are required if you choose to do certain events. This could include:
Shows, costumes, travel, parking, competition entry fees, extra shoes,
make up and any other performing related expenses. Remember: All events
are optional.
